Presente Continuo: Canción “LEMON TREE” de Fool’s Garden

Aprender inglés con canciones, como bien sabemos, es una forma genial para practicar inglés: aprendemos vocabulario, pronunciación, gramática, etc… y encima nos lo pasamos bien cantando. Además, el ritmo de una canción te ayuda a memorizar muchísimo mejor todo lo que aprendas. ¡Pues vamos a ello!

Ya sabemos cómo se forma el Gerundio y cómo se utiliza el Presente Continuo. Ahora vamos a practicar estos temas con una canción que le encanta a mis alumnos LEMON TREEde Fool’s Garden.

A parte de consolidar este tiempo verbal, con esta canción aprenderás nuevo vocabulario. Es una canción muy ‘pegadiza‘, o sea que en nada, la estarás cantando sin darte cuenta mientras cocines, conduciendo y, como no, ¡en la ducha!

¿Qué debes hacer?

1) En primer lugar debes escuchar la canción e intentar completar la letra (lyrics) con las palabras que te pondré en un segundito.

2) Seguramente necesitarás escuchar la canción más de una vez para rellenar los huecos que faltan, pero escúchala todas las veces que sean necesarias, al final conseguirás descubrir la letra entera.

*Si quieres hacer trampas, puedes buscar esta canción directamente con la letra por Youtube, pero entonces ya no hace falta que sigas leyendo este post, porque es como hacerse trampas al solitario 😉

→Por cierto, ‘hacer trampas’ en inglés se dice ‘to cheat’ /tʃiːt/.Cuando alguien es infiel también se dice ‘cheat‘:

  • He is cheating on her— Él le está siendo infiel (a ella)…vamos, que le está metiendo los cuernos…

Uffff, ya me he ido por las ramas otra vez. Volvamos al tema.

3) Cuando tengas la letra entera, ahora sí escucha la canción con la letra (lyrics) y comprueba que has acertado con todas las palabras.

4) Pero no podía ser tan fácil…Verás que la lista de palabras incluye adjetivos, nombres y verbos, pero los verbos NO están conjugados, es decir si yo te pongo SIT, tú tendrás que conjugar el verbo, es decir formar el gerundio para que cuadre con la canción, que en este caso sería sitting.

5) Tras la canción encontrarás dos ejercicios; uno sobre comprensión lectora ‘reading comprehension’ (o auditiva) y otro sobre formar gerundios.

***Cuidado, la canción contiene ‘Phrasal Verbs’...
